Finding The Inspiration

Writing 101: Unlock the Mind

Welcome to Writing 101. In this inaugural assignment, let’s loosen up and just write. We’re so excited you’ve joined us — let’s get started!

Did not know what to do that night. I wanted to write something but I got stuck in the middle of no where. I couldn’t focus. So I took my mobile and tried to find something interesting there. I liked to have conversation with someone randomly out there using my mobile. Then I got greeting from someone. And we had long conversation. As usual, I dominated the situation. I was the one who digging information from this guy. He was a broken hearted guy. He broke with his girlfriend six months ago and couln’t move on. There he told me the story as I asked him.

Just write

Just write

“Hey…who are you?” He asked.

“I am a blogger, Manaf. I want to write something but I get stuck” I replied.

“Hm…what do you want to write?”

“Dunno…”

Then I remembered the story he told me before.

“Manaf, what if I wrote about your love story?” I asked his permission.

“Oh no..please don’t do that” He begged me.

“Ok..I won’t be insist”

But his story has been recorded to my mind. I could re-write it with different setting of course. The bottom line is, his story can inspire me in many ways. It’s very easy to find inspiration to write if you open your ears, your eyes, your mind, and your heart.

Editing Title and Tagline

Blogging 101: Say Your Name

Today’s assignment: edit your title and tagline. Make your readers’ first impression a good one!

I look at my blog and try to find a perfect name for it. Actually I want to change its name and tagline before but I always don’t have time to do it. Now I’m spending sometimes to think about changing its name and tagline seriously. I have to finish it right now or never.

My blog before

My blog before

The title is “Tyastlc : My Thought and My Feeling”. Tyastlc is like my identity, it’s my nick name when I go online. All my social media accounts mostly use this nick name. Tyas comes from my name Dian Widyaningtyas. Tlc means tender , love, and care. I really like those words but I can’t explain why. I just like it. But I know some people don’t know the story behind its name. So I want to simplified it. Suddenly I remember Frank Sinatra’s song “From Rusia with Love”. I like this song though I and Frank Sinatra are not in the same age. That song’s title inspires me. So I change my blog’s title from “Tyastlc : My Thought and My Feeling” to “From Tyas with Tender, Love, and Care”. I want the readers know that I dedicate this blog from my heart.

My blog after

My blog after

The tagline is “It’s what I think and feel about anything in this life”. I think the tagline is too long and it’s less efficient. So I change it. Now its tagline is “My Though, My Feeling, and My Imagination”. It describes my blog’s conten very well. This blog represents myself. Some people get curious what happen to others, don’t they? So I use this fact to attract them read my blog.

Kepadamu Aku Akan Kembali

Apa kabar, belahan jiwa?
Lama sudah kita tak bertemu
Dalam canda dan tawa semu
Antara duniaku dan duniamu
Bukan karena aku melupakanmu
Sungguh bukan itu
Ketika sejenak aku menjauh darimu
Jangan pernah risaukan itu
Karena kepadamu aku akan kembali
Disaat ingin kugantungkan lukisan duka berbingkai tawa

My Name is Catty

An Odd Trio

Today, you can write about whatever you what — but your post must include, in whatever role you see fit, a cat, a bowl of soup, and a beach towel. – The Daily Post

Oh dear…this morning is so cold. So very cold and It can freeze me to death. Where is the sunlight anyway? Is this morning or night? I believe this is morning. I went sleep last night and I supposed to wake up at the morning, right? So..this is morning without sunlight. Brrr…… I have to do something to warm my body. It looks like this thick fur won’t help me much. Kitchen!…..yeah…that place must be very warm. She usually cooks something in the kitchen every morning. Hm…She cooks everytime actually.  I’ll stay near the stove to get warm. Alright I’ll go there…

Contemplation

It’s Your Party

Since many are marking their country’s “birthday” in the US today, we wanted to ask: How do you celebrate yours? Are you all for a big bash, or more of a low-key birthday boy/girl? – The Daily Post

There’s no party on my birthday. Not when I was a kid nor when I was a young girl. I don’t like any kind of party anyway. I usually settled in “my cave” during my birthday. You can’t find me at the office or at any public area on my birthday. And what do I do in that cave? I think birthday is the right time to look back the days that have gone by whether it’s still on right track or not. There are many important decisions I take on my birthday. I think birthday is a perfect time for contemplation.

Music for The Heart

Strike a Chord

Do you play an instrument? Is there a musical instrument whose sound you find particularly pleasing? Tell us a story about your experience or relationship with an instrument of your choice. – The Daily Post

My last post was on July 3rd, 2014 in response for Daily Prompt July, day 2nd. That means I have to catch up ten days by now #sigh.

I used to play keyboard. We could play many various musical instruments in that keyboard. I selected piano sound like when I played it. I really like the sound. Unfortunately, my parent couldn’t buy me a grand piano so It was enough for me to play piano sound like on a keyboard. Actually I like acoustic guitar also. But I can’t play it. It’s very difficult to learn guitar. I feel pain on my finger tip whenever I try to practice this instrument.

In The Middle Of Nowhere

Wrong Turns

When was the last time you got lost? Was it an enjoyable experience, or a stressful one? Tell us all about it. – The Daily Post

This happened about a month ago when I drove my friends home. I didn’t know where one of them lived. She gave me direction. All I knew was there’s traffic jump along the way to her house. Especially in the afternoon when people went home from work. I reached her house after forty five minutes driving. Then I went home along with another friend. On the way, I decided to turn right instead of straight forward. It’s because I wanted to avoid traffic jump. I didn’t know the direction but my friend told me she knew it.

I didn’t know what’s on her mind, I did count on her and she forgot the direction. Then I just drove my car along the way. The road was too narrow so I couldn’t turn back to the place before I got lost. It was like one way ticket. That wasn’t a stressful experience. I enjoyed it. Really! It’s so exciting exploring new thing, isn’t it? so let’s enjoy it. It took two hours before I reached the house.

Can’t Wipe The Fears Away

Back of the Queue

Is there something you’ve always wanted to do, but never got around to starting (an activity, a hobby, or anything else, really)? Tell us about it — and tell us about what’s keeping you from doing it. (Thanks, Rocky, for inspiring today’s prompt!) – The Daily Post

I’ve been running fashion business since end of 2010. I have boutique near the house. I started it from zero. I can see it’s growing. I really enjoy all the process I’ve been through. For me, it’s a never ending learning process. I’ve learned how to connect with the suppliers. I’ve learned how to communicate with customers. I’ve learned how to integrate my business with all social media for selling boosting. Everything runs well. So very well for someone who hasn’t had fashion business experience before.

As Bitter As Life

Daily Post Prompt :

You have to choose one flavor that your sense of taste will no longer be able to distinguish. Sweet, sour, bitter, salty, umami, spicy (not a taste per se, but we’re generous): which one do you choose to lose? – The Daily Post

“What was that, Mama?” I asked  a question to the old woman who sit on wooden chair next to my bed. She gave me a liquid on a tiny glass. She asked me to drink that liquid. Not much in fact, it’s just 10 ml or less, perhaps. I wasn’t quite sure. But I felt like its taste would bite my tongue for a week or longer at the moment that liquid wet my tongue.

“It will make you feel better, Sweetheart. Go sleep now” She replied while covered me with blue blangket.

“It’s not better to my tongue, Mama”

Playing With Dots And Commas

Daily Post Prompt

We all have strange relationships with punctuation — do you overuse exclamation marks? Do you avoid semicolons like the plague? What type of punctuation could you never live without? Tell us all about your punctuation quirks – The Daily Post

“Will I see you tomorrow?’ She asked me.

“Hm….. I don’t know” I replied.

“Is it goodbye?” I saw tears in her eyes.

“Please….don’t cry. I just can’t see you like this. I beg you. You’re gonna be OK”

“How can’t you see me like this, but you’re going to leave me, and pretending I’m gonna be OK ?” She cried.
